White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Wednesday that Biden's appearances in Orange County and Oregon will address "his efforts to lower prescription drug costs, protect Medicare and strengthen Social Security, and to fight efforts by congressional Republicans to put Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block and reinstate giveaways to Big Pharma."
According to White House officials, Biden will also highlight cost-saving measures in the Inflation Reduction Act, including an average $800 annual reduction in health care premiums for 13 million familiars, along with reduced prescription drug costs for seniors and a cap on out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions.
