Racing Or Road Rage? 4 Injured, 1 Arrested In Santa Ana Crash
Was it street racing or road rage that caused this crash in Santa Ana? One driver who fled the scene was arrested and 4 people were injured.
SANTA ANA, CA — A Santa Ana area collision injured four people early Wednesday morning, police said. At least one person involved in the crash was arrested after a confrontation with officers. Four people were transported as trauma patients to UCI and OC Global Medical Center, according to an Orange County Fire Authority spokesperson.
The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of First and Fairview streets and involved either two vehicles racing or an act of road rage, according to Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.
The two vehicles ran a red light and hit a car and a bicyclist and one driver fled the scene, according to Bertagna.

The driver ran into a nearby ice cream business, where an employee pointed him out to pursuing officers, who took him into custody with the use of a taser, Bertagna said.
The intersection of First and Fairview was shut down.
