Radiant Futures Among 43 Entities Honored at Office of Immigrant & Refugee Affairs' 2nd-Year Celebration

Nonprofit Radiant Futures was among a diverse network of 43 organizations recently honored by Orange County Social Services’ Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs (OIRA) at its Second-Year Anniversary Celebration.

The organizations, ranging from legal advocates such as the Public Law Center and Immigrant Defenders Law Center to health providers such as CalOptima Health and Latino Health Access, as well as community groups such as VietRISE and Access California Services, were acknowledged for their continued commitment to strengthening direct services and advancing advocacy for immigrant and refugee communities across the county.

Orange County Board of Supervisors Chair Doug Chaffee and Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento were on hand to recognize the role they all play in creating belonging, equity and opportunity for Orange County residents.

Representing Radiant Futures was Director of Legal Service Daniel Sanders, who is also the chairperson for the Orange County Family Violence Council. Radiant Futures’ staff works with all survivors of domestic violence (DV) and human trafficking (HT), as well as those who cause harm in DV or HT situations. Th OIRA serves vulnerable populations by spotlighting personal stories of hope and perseverance and reaffirming its unwavering commitment to supporting residents across the region. Orange County has long been a refuge for those fleeing violence, war and economic upheaval across the globe. Today, more than a third of Orange County’s 3.2 million residents are immigrants.

The County of Orange Social Services Agency operates under the policy direction of the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the California Departments of Social Services and Health Services. SSA is responsible for planning, implementing, and operating many of the social services programs provided by the County of Orange.
