Radiant Futures & YAY! Foundation to Stage Stand Up Pho Good 2.0 Asian Pacific Islander Comedy Show

Nonprofit Radiant Futures is collaborating with the YAY! Foundation to co-host the second Asian Pacific Islander Comedy Show at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center.

The free event is set for 6:30 to 8:30 PM on Thursday, May 7 as that date coincides with Asian American and Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. The Center is located at 250 East Center Street in Anaheim.

Professional comedians headlining the event are Aidan Park, founder of the YAY! Foundation and an internationally touring comedian, bestselling author, and advocate for mental and emotional wellness through humor and storytelling, along with Sisa Grey and Ana Parsons.

Amateur comics set to perform include Radiant Futures’ own Stephanie Teo and Sue Reveche, along with a mystery guest.

Several Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) organizations will be on hand to discuss their services. Raffle prizes will be donated by local API businesses, and food will be available for purchase.

“In light of cultural stigmas that often prevent Asian American and Pacific Islander individuals from seeking help when confronted with domestic violence and trafficking, we are delighted to bring back this community comedy show to raise awareness and encourage those in need to reach out,” Radiant Futures Chief Executive Officer Mark Lee said.

The evening be a non-traditional way of using comedy as a method of trauma healing. As the event will touch on sensitive topics, such as family violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking that may be triggering for some individuals, it’s intended for a mature audience age 15 years and older.
