Woman Critically Injured By Hit-And-Run Vehicle In Newport Beach

The hit-and-run was reported at 10:25 p.m. Monday in Newport Beach, police say.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A woman was critically injured during a hit-and-run crash in Newport Beach, authorities said.

Newport Beach Police officers were dispatched at about 10:25 p.m. Monday to the area of MacArthur Boulevard and East Coast Highway, where they found a woman laying in the roadway.

Paramedics rushed her to a trauma center, where she was listed in critical condition. Her name and age were not released.

"The initial investigation found a vehicle struck this pedestrian and fled the scene," the Newport Beach Police Department said in a statement. "The suspect vehicle is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing."
