School Employee Accused Of Luring Teenage Girls Into Car With Pot

Cops say he asked two teenage girls offered the girls a ride and promised them drugs.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to lure two teenage girls into his car with the promise of marijuana, police say.

Two juvenile girls stopped when the suspect, identified by police as Julio Torres, 30, of Garden Grove, who asked them if they knew "where he could buy drugs," a Garden Grove police spokesperson said.

According to Garden Grove Police Sgt. Brian Dalton, Torres then tried to convince the girls to get into his car; however, the girls fled the location. At least one of the females was 14 years old, according to Dalton.

One of the victims "snapped a photo of his car and provided the information that led to his arrest," said Dalton.

While investigating Torres, they learned that he was employed by the Santa Ana Unified School District. The nature of his job was not disclosed at the time of this report.

He was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail, Dalton said.

Investigators are asking that any additional victims or witnesses come forward, by calling investigator Marchand at 714-741-5704.
