School Lockdowns Lifted In Anaheim, Suspect Caught: Police

A school lockdown at two Anaheim schools was lifted Friday after a brief search through nearby neighborhoods, police say.

ANAHEIM, CA — Lockdowns at two Anaheim schools have been lifted as police have taken a suspect in custody, Anaheim Police said.

Western High School was placed on a Level 2 lockdown due to police activity in the area.

"The activity is NOT on the campus and all students are safe with SRO on scene," Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.

A search for the suspect, who was wanted on unspecified warrants, triggered the lockdowns at Twila Reid Elementary and Western High School at approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday morning.

By 12:15 p.m. police apprehended the suspect, according to reports.
