See Driver Smash A Window Out Of Road Rage: Cops

A moment of anger turned terrifying in Anaheim this week when a driver cut off another, then lunged across their hood; all caught on camera.

ANAHEIM, CA — A road rage incident has blown up the internet this week after a man leaped onto a car's hood and punched the windshield, barehanded, video shows. Driver Veneranda Valencia Alverez told NBC4 that she was "shaken" by the incident that "went too far, to begin with," she says.

Alverez's two daughters were riding in the car with her along State College Boulevard when a man in a white Jeep Cherokee "cut her off," she told reporters. Alverez was unsure what upset him before that moment.

The police report, filed after the incident, describes that Alverez rolled down her window and told the man to leave them alone or she would call the police. Then, he punched the window so hard that it shattered. Her daughter caught the moment on cell phone video.

The man's leap dented the hood of her Nissan Cube, his fist left the windshield shattered, leaving hundreds of dollars in damage, Alverez said, but the fear that remained was worse than any monetary amount.

She feared "for my daughters, and for me," she told NBC4. "It was pretty scary. He doesn't belong out here if he's aggressive..."

With a blurry license plate photo, thanks to the recording of the incident, Anaheim police say that the man committed felony vandalism in the road rage attack, and they are on the lookout for the driver of that white Jeep Cherokee. As of this report, the suspect is still being sought.
