Shooting In Anaheim: Man Dies Sunday Night At UCI Medical Center

ANAHEIM, CA — A man was shot on an Anaheim street and died a short time later at an area hospital, police reported Monday.

It is not currently known if the shooting was gang-related, and no arrests have been reported in this incident according to officials.

The shooting was reported just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Laxore Street and Orange Avenue, Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer said.

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Tyrone Portis of Buena Park — suffered at least one gunshot wound to the chest, Carringer said. He was taken by paramedics to UCI Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
