SigAlert On 57 Freeway: Car Fire Results In Offramp Shutdown

Commuters are encouraged to steer clear of the California State route 57 north near Imperial Highway while firefighters clear the scene.

FULLERTON, CA — A car fire on the California State route 57 traveling north has resulted in an offramp closure near Imperial Highway in Fullerton Friday afternoon, California Highway Patrol reported.

No injuries have been reported. According to CHP, a black Mini Cooper was driving northbound on the freeway when it caught fire at roughly 3:30 p.m. Gas was said to be leaking out of the car.

The SigAlert was issued at 3:40 p.m. and will be in effect for a half hour, CHP reported.
