SIGALERT: Southbound 5 Freeway Lanes Close For Downed Motorcycle In Orange

At least two lanes of the southbound 5 freeway were closed as officials rendered aid to a downed motorcyclist, Tuesday.

ORANGE, CA — At least two lanes of the southbound 5 freeway were closed due to a downed motorcyclist, officials say.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Beam tells Patch that a person, likely on a motorcycle, came off the 57 transfer lanes and landed on the five freeway. Medics at the scene have transported the injured rider to UC Irvine with moderate injuries, CHP reports.

Drivers in the area noted that one person was seen walking on the northbound 5 freeway and another party was "laying down" in lanes.
