South Coast Metro Alliance Adds New Business Preparedness Academy Date

No matter whether they happen at a hotel, office, retailer, or multifamily residential property, emergencies are an unfortunate fact of business life.

To help them navigate through the challenges emergencies create, the Business Preparedness Academy, a comprehensive, hands-on training experience, is providing an additional training day at no cost to participants from South Coast Metro businesses.

The South Coast Metro Alliance, in collaboration with Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue and the Costa Mesa Police Department, will host the training on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 9 AM until 4 PM at the Costa Mesa Emergency Operations Center, located at 99 Fair Drive next to the Costa Mesa Police Department. Parking is complimentary.

Topics for the session include learning how to prepare for emergencies at work, including preparedness steps, search and rescue skills, medical treatment area setup and team organization. The training session also includes multiple lessons to develop or augment skills and to gain valuable experience as a floor team leader. Attendees are asked to wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, and to bring a light jacket or sweater and sunglasses.

Certificates of participation will be presented. Up to six members of each interested organization may attend. Complimentary lunches will be provided.
