Steve Bannon Keynotes California Republican Convention In Anaheim
Steve Bannon, former White House Chief Strategist, Breitbart News Chairman, to speak in Anaheim at CA Republican Convention.
ANAHEIM, CA — Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist and Senior Counselor who is now executive chairman of Breibart News, will be the keynote speaker next Friday at the opening dinner of the California Republican Party's 2017 fall convention at the Anaheim Marriott, the party announced Friday. His keynote speech will be part of "Free Speech Friday Night"
Bannon has accepted the invitation from the California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte, though the Washington Examiner says Bannon's "confrontational style" might not benefit the goal of making the Republican Party's presence stronger in California.
Tickets to the Friday dinner and VIP reception on October 20 are running about $300 for the full experience, including photos with the speaker.

Bannon's appearance at the convention occurs during what Politico.com calls a "critical time for the Republican Party in California." The party's current share of California registered voters has dwindled to below 26-percent.
"Steven Bannon is not shy about taking on the establishment on behalf of hard-working Americans. He is a leading voice in the effort to drain the swamp in Washington D.C., a change desperately needed since it has limited our progress. Of course, California has its own swamp in Sacramento that also needs draining," said California Republican Party Chairman Jim Brulte. "We're eager to hear from Mr. Bannon and look forward to having him join us at our upcoming convention."

According to the CAGOP.com site, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, General Session will be the highlight of the convention. "On Saturday, it will be open seating and you will hear from an exciting group of speakers."
Other speakers expected at the convention include Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark) and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.). They will both speak on Oct. 21.
