Student Found With Gun At Orange County School, Lockdown Ensues
A freshman student at a La Habra area high school brought the gun to school, allegedly to sell the weapon.
LA HABRA, CA β A freshman at La Habra High School was found in possession of a gun Tuesday, leading officials to place the school on lockdown, temporarily. No injuries were reported.
Police said the student was detained and the lockdown was lifted. The gun was not loaded.
A 14-year-old student was trying to sell the older-model handgun, witnesses told local media. The freshman displayed the weapon during a metal-shop class.

He allegedly pointed the gun at some classmates, prompting three or four of them to tackle the student and wrestle the gun away, the station reported.
"There was some type of struggle between a couple of students to get the gun away from this particular student," La Habra police Lt. Brian Miller told Channel 9.

One student-witness told the station "he picked up the gun,"which he described as "kind of small" and having a white handle.
"I jump up and I run. I go to the desk and I put it down," he said. "The teacher just didn't know what to do."
