Suspected DUI Driver Arrested For Fatal Disneyland Drive Crash

ANAHEIM, CA -Police arrested a La Mirada woman on suspicion of fatally striking a 54-year-old Fresno man walking on Disneyland Drive over the weekend.

Stefanie lyn Bieser, 47, was expected to be charged on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs causing bodily injury, police said Sunday.

Late Saturday evening, the victim was walking south on Disneyland Drive when a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser, heading north on Disneyland Drive north of Katella Avenue, jumped the curb, struck a pole and an electrical box, then hit the man, Anaheim Police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to UC Irvine Medical Center with major injuries, where he was pronounced dead, Wyatt said. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Northbound Disneyland Drive was closed at Katella Avenue during the investigation.
