Suspicious Package Found Near Orange City Hall: COPS

A package found near Orange City Hall prompted Orange Police Department to bring in robots to investigate, Monday. Avoid the area, cops say.

ORANGE, CA — A suspicious package found near city hall was deemed not to be a threat, officials determined.

The Orange Police Department investigated the potentially hazardous package found early Monday morning, they said. City hall was closed until 1 p.m. and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area, for the duration of the incident, according to officials.

During the investigation, South Grand Street was closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, between Almond Avenue and Chapman Avenue. Orange City Hall was also closed.

While OPD brought in robots to investigate the "potentially hazardous package" they advised all to avoid the area.

No threat to public safety was reported, a department spokesperson said.
