Thieves Call Rideshare After Robbing OC Macy's Store, Police Say
Four suspects were arrested after ransacking a Macy's store in Brea Tuesday and leading officers on a high-speed pursuit, police say.
BREA, CA — Four suspects who ransacked a Macy's store in Orange County on Tuesday were arrested after leading officers on a pursuit and eventually calling a rideshare driver to pick them up, KTLA5 reported.
The theft was reported around noon, after the thieves — identified as Louie Velasco of South Gate; Jocelyn Mendoza of Simi Valley; and Los Angeles residents Sherry Rogers and Marlon Deleon — were spotted grabbing merchandise from the Macy's department store at the Brea Mall.
The four suspects led officers on a high-speed chase that shut down a nearby elementary school before officers called off the chase, the report said. Sometime later, the suspects called a rideshare service to pick them up near a dentist's office in Brea.
