Three Alarm Fire At Paint Warehouse; Business Saved By Firewall
A three-alarm fire in Santa Ana destroyed one business, though a neighboring one was spared by a firewall.

SANTA ANA, CA — The morning was shattered by sirens as responders arrived at a Sherwin Williams paint store in Santa Ana early Wednesday.
Flames could be seen from miles away as the 2:30 a.m. blaze in the area of Bristol and Hesperian Streets shot through the roof as firefighters from OCFA, Anaheim, Orange and Garden Grove Fire Departments arrived on scene.
No one was injured, according to Orange County Fire Authority.

The business, Discount Movers, shares a building with a Sherwin-Williams paint store, which was not affected by the fire as the two businesses are separated by a firewall.
"It did its job," said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.

Arriving crews saw the flames, and approximately 75 firefighters took a defensive position around the building and doused the flames from the exterior.
Crews were near achieving knockdown of the blaze around 4:15 a.m., but Kurtz said firefighters needed to go inside and check for hot spots.
The fire prompted authorities to block the Bristol Street off-ramp from the eastbound Garden Grove (22) Freeway, wreaking havoc on the morning commute through the area.
About 6 a.m., surface street traffic was allowed through the area on northbound Bristol Street, but the freeway offramp leading to both directions of Bristol Street remained closed, as was southbound Bristol Street in the area of the fire, the CHP reported.
There was no word as of this report as to the cause of the fire.
This is a developing story. More information will be added as it is released.
