'Tomorrowland' Set To Get Massive Update, New Rides Slotted For Disneyland Announced

ANAHEIM, CA — Disneyland patrons can expect some big changes at the Anaheim theme park in the future, including a sweeping update of Tomorrowland, two new Avengers attractions and the return of several well-loved nighttime shows.

Disneyland revealed plans for the updates during its "Horizons: A Carousel of Progress" Disney Experiences Showcase at D23, giving Disney fans a first look at projects coming to the theme parks over the next several years.

While several announcements were made, among the biggest is a planned transformation of Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park.

According to Disney, the project will honor the legacy of the original land while reimagining it with new attractions, more open spaces and new areas centered around visions of the future.

The company did not give an opening date or further details about which existing Tomorrowland attractions could be affected.

In addition, several well-loved Disneyland shows are also returning in 2027.

An updated version of "Remember... Dreams Come True" will return to Disneyland Park starting in February, while an updated version of the original "World of Color" will debut at Disney California Adventure.

The "Magic Happens" parade is also scheduled to return to Disneyland Park by summer 2027.

Disney also gave a timeline for the major expansion of Avengers Campus at California Adventure.

Avengers Infinity Defense will feature large physical sets blended with media scenes and appearances from characters portrayed by actors from the Marvel films.

For Stark Flight Lab — the second new ride to be featured at the Avengers Campus — Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie and Brie Larson will reprise their Marvel roles, Disney announced.

In addition, the theme park announced new details about the upcoming "Coco" attraction at California Adventure.

According to officials, the ride's story will take place one year after the events of the 2017 Pixar film.
