Tustin Woman Honored For Outstanding Patient Care

TUSTIN, CA — Tustin resident Tina Menendez has been awarded the August/September Oliver Halsell Care Award - a program introduced in 2012 by Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession and community, and help improve the lives and spirits of everyone they touch.

Menendez began her journey as a caregiver after assisting her mother through a health decline, when she stepped in to be her mother’s primary caregiver. After this life event, it was obvious to Menendez that she belonged in a field where she could devote her time to helping others through their time of need.

“Tina is the heartbeat of our facility. She has held the hearts of all our families as their loved ones have declined and passed,” said William Young, owner and Memory Care Specialist at Forever Young Memory Care. “Tina provides personal, intimate and loving care at all stages of our residents’ lives; she cares for residents with dignity, ensuring that they are comfortable, groomed and in a warm and loving environment.”

Menendez was nominated by Young, who praised Menendez for her selflessness and admired her for complete dedication to ensuring that the best care is given to all residents.

In November 2018, Menendez will be recognized at the Annual Oliver Halsell Care Awards banquet with five other local honorees. Additionally, Fairhaven will donate on her behalf to Laura’s House, a Southern California nonprofit committed to ending the silence of domestic violence.

Fairhaven is accepting nominations for the remainder of 2018 to recognize other outstanding individuals whose kindness and dedication to serving others is inspirational.
