Undergrounding Project Set To Start Aug. 12: What To Know

The project is anticipated to take roughly two years to complete, Laguna Beach city officials said.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA β€” The Woods Cove Utility Undergrounding Project is set to begin this month, and residents should expect construction in certain parts of Laguna Beach starting Aug. 12.

According to the city, construction is scheduled to take place between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

The project will be carried out by Hot Line Construction, Inc., and construction will impact Bluebird Canyon Drive, Upland Road, Santa Cruz Street and South Coast Highway within the Woods Cove neighborhood.

The project will underground roughly 130 utility poles and place 15,000 linear feet of overhead utility wires underground, the city said.

Flaggers will be directing traffic and intermittent road closures with detours will occur during construction. Residents should expect minor days.

According to the city, the project is expected to be complete in 24 months.
