Voting Machine Issues Reported Across Orange County
Hours after the polling places opened, ProPublica received multiple tips of voting problems in Southern California cities.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A handful of voters in Orange County and about a dozen Los Angeles voters reported issues at their polling places on election day, ProPublica announced through their Electionland project.
The project, which Patch is a partner of, monitors voting problems throughout the country.
Issues in Orange County included broken machines with no repair people present in La Palma, Brea, Irvine and Garden Grove.

Meanwhile, record numbers of Orange County residents have already turned in their ballots, according to OC Registrar of Voters, Neal Kelley.
As of Monday night, 390,000 mail-in ballots had been turned in, Kelley said. On Tuesday, early in-person turnout was "running about 130 percent ahead of the presidential election in 2016," Kelley said. "For a midterm, I've never seen it like this. We'd have to go back a long way to be close to that."

Patch has reached out to Orange County's Registrar of Voters for the current status of the broken voting machines and will update this report when more information is received.
California voters who may experience problems while voting can report it to the California Secretary of State at 1-800-345-VOTE (8683).
If you had trouble voting, or if you saw something you want to tell Electionland about, here's how.
