Walk To School Event Day Celebrated Across Orange County
Walk to School day was celebrated across Orange County; Yorba Linda; Laguna Hills; Lake Forest and Dana Point.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The Orange County Sheriff's Department, Orange County Health Agency and schools at city's across the county worked together Wednesday to sponsor National Walk To School Day events. Walkers brought signs, wore bright vests and formed "walking school buses" of children with parent volunteers in front and behind.
Drivers were advised to be slow in the area, as children were walking by in record numbers. Social media streams picked up pictures of kids and parents enjoying a beautiful Southern California morning carrying backpacks, holding hands and sauntering to school in record numbers.
Olive Street School had their fires "Walking Schoolbus" thanks to parent volunteers who carried signs and kept little feet on the sidewalk.
