HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Do you hear the roar of jets in the sky? The 8th annual Pacific Airshow is back in Huntington Beach, drawing thousands to the Orange County coast to witness the three-day spectacle in the sky.

Here are five things to know about this year's Pacific Airshow in Huntington Beach.

1. This year's event boasts an expanded performer lineup.

The 2024 Pacific Airshow includes performances from U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team and the U.S. Air Force A-10 Demo Team. The airshow feature a world-first temporary landing area on the beach, allowing attendees to get up close and personal with five STOL aircraft at this year's show. Audience members will see non-stop sky-high stunts, fast flyovers and take part in "expanded beach-based fun and entertainment," according to the Pacific Airshow's website.

2. Residents in the surrounding area will hear noice starting Sept. 30.

Residents can expect intermittent jet noise starting Monday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 6. The Pacific Airshow itself takes place from Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6. 3. No drones are allowed anywhere near the annual event.

Drones are strictly prohibited within five miles of the 2024 Pacific Airshow, the Huntington Beach Police Department said. According to airshow organizers, "any item, including drones that would or could negatively impact public safety, aircraft safety and/or present a threat, real or perceived are prohibited from Pacific Airshow."

4. Residents in nearby areas may see flyovers before the show begins.

According to Pacific Airshow organizers, pilots are hard at work preparing for the three-day event. Orange County residents can expect to hear jet noise throughout the week, with organizers stating that residents "may see flyovers" come Thursday.

"Expect an increase in overhead aircraft noise throughout event week," organizers wrote on Instagram. "We hope you get to see a sneak peak of what is to come this weekend!"

5. Tickets for the 2024 Pacific Airshow are still on sale.

Residents interested in viewing the three-day spectacle for themselves can still purchase general admission tickets for one or all three days of the Pacific Airshow. For more information, visit the Pacific Airshow's website.
