Woman Dies In Storm Drain At Orange County Park Sunday

GARDEN GROVE, CA — A woman died in a storm drain at a park in Garden Grove, authorities said Monday.

Orange County firefighters were called to the scene at Haster Basin Park at 9:47 a.m. after receiving reports of a person in a storm drain needing medical aid.

Authorities found the woman outside of the drain opening in cardiac arrest, the Orange County Fire Authority reported. Firefighter-paramedics then attempted to resuscitate the woman, but she died on scene. She was not identified by authorities.

Technical rescue teams went into the storm drain to search for other people and did not find anyone, authorities said.

Garden Grove police will investigate the woman's death.
