Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle In OC

A woman in her 60s riding an electric bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle in Westminster Thursday, authorities said.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A woman in her 60s riding an electric bicycle was struck and killed by a vehicle in Westminster Thursday.

Officers responded to the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Bolsa Avenue around 5:40 p.m. Thursday to a report regarding an injured woman involved in a traffic crash who was lying down in the roadway, Westminster Police Department Sgt. Alan Aoki said.

Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived at the location and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, Aoki said.

The motorist involved in the fatal crash remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, Aoki said.

The crash remains under an ongoing investigation by the Westminster Police Department Traffic Bureau.
The woman's name was not released.
