Woman Found Dead In Orange County Motel

Officers were called to the inland OC motel where they discovered the woman had died from presumed foul play.

SANTA ANA, CA — A woman was discovered dead inside a Sunshine Village Motel room in Santa Ana on Tuesday, police reported. One man was detained for questioning in Fresno, police said.

Officers were called to the 1400 block of East First Street before 7 a.m. to conduct a welfare check and found the deceased woman, according to Santa Ana Police Sgt. Anthony Bertagna.

A man in Fresno reportedly made the call for the welfare check in the room, however police are unsure of his "relationship with the victim," he said.

The woman was in her late 40s, early 50s, and she was discovered inside of a room that was not registered to her, according to Bertagna. Detectives were on their way to Fresno to question the detained man in relation to the homicide.
