Zonta Club of Newport Harbor Awards $33,000 To Local Nonprofits in Support of Women and Girls

The Zonta Club of Newport Harbor has presented four nonprofit organizations with $33,000 in grants to further their community projects in Orange County. Each year, the Zonta Club accepts grant applications from local nonprofits and then awards funds for projects designed to improve the quality of life for women and girls in Orange County. Human trafficking, homelessness, physical fitness and trauma care were key issues funded this year.
Recipients include:
- Women’s Transitional Living Center, Fullerton, $10,000, “Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign”
- WISE Place, Santa Ana, $10,000, “Steps to Independence”
- Mary’s Path in N. Tustin, $6,500, “Trauma Informed Care” and “Guided Animal Intervention Therapy (GAIT)
- Girls on the Run in Newport Beach, $6,500, “Building Confidence – Physical Fitness and Fun”
Representatives from each nonprofit attended a recent Zonta Club meeting to receive their checks and promote their organization and its projects. A total of 21 nonprofits vied for funding.
