SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — There was a large police presence reported near an elementary school Tuesday in South San Francisco and officers shut down, police said.
At 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, the South San Francisco Police Department sent out an alert stating there was a large presence of police activity in the Spruce Elementary area. Police said they are conducting an ongoing investigation but there is no active threat.
Police said to avoid Park Way and Spruce Avenue and Spruce Avenue and Lux Avenue.
Police said significant traffic delays are expected and to use alternate routes until further notice.
