SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A man who died in a crash on U.S. Highway 101 near San Francisco International Airport last week has been identified as an East Bay resident, officials said Monday.
The San Mateo County Coroner's Office said the victim was Alan Wayne Casey, a 28-year-old Oakland resident.
The collision happened around 7 p.m. Thursday on southbound Highway 101 north of Millbrae Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Casey received CPR at the scene before being taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The crash shut down multiple southbound lanes of Highway 101 for more than two hours before all lanes reopened around 9:20 p.m.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
