PACIFICA, CA — A man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after accidentally firing a handgun inside a parked vehicle at Linda Mar Beach on Sunday evening, police said.
Officers said they responded around 6:32 p.m. to Parking Lot A at Linda Mar Beach, where they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound inside a parked car.
The investigation determined the man accidentally discharged the firearm, causing the self-inflicted injury, police said.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
No one else was inside the vehicle.
Officers recovered a loaded semiautomatic pistol from the vehicle and seized it as evidence.
Police said they are seeking charges related to carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle and failing to register an out-of-state firearm in California.
