SAN BRUNO, CA — A woman died after fleeing from police in her car and jumping from an overpass onto an interstate, according to the South San Francisco Police Department announced Wednesday.
Officers found the woman Monday in connection with multiple outstanding arrest warrants, police said. She fled from officers, leading to a vehicle pursuit into San Bruno, police said.
The pursuit ended on the Sneath Lane overpass at Interstate 280, where the woman remained inside the car before later leaving on foot.
She then climbed over the overpass guardrail and landed on the freeway below, according to police. She was taken to a local trauma center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Multiple law enforcement and emergency response agencies assisted at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
