Injured Hiker Airlifted Off Of Remote Palisades Trail

The woman suffered an injury to her legs or feet and needed to be hoisted out of a remote area in Topanga State Park Tuesday.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Firefighters hoisted an injured hiker out of a remote area in the Palisades Tuesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities responded to a report that a 45-year-old woman had suffered an injury to her legs or feet in a remote area near the Santa Ynez Canyon Trailhead in Topanga State Park.

An LAFD helicopter lowered a rescuer to the woman to provide care. She was hoisted up to the helicopter and transported to a local hospital in "fair" condition, the LAFD said.
