Investigation Into Temescal Canyon Trail Death Continues

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA – Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of John McNabb, the 52-year-old man who was found dead on a hiking trail over the weekend.

Hikers called the Los Angeles Fire Department just before 1 p.m. Saturday after finding McNabb lying unresponsive on or near a Temescal Canyon trail. Dispatchers provided CPR instructions to several bystanders before paramedics took over and attempted to resuscitate McNabb for around 20 minutes. He was declared dead at the scene, according to the LAFD.

The LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner identified McNabb and the case remains open pending additional investigation by the LA Police Department and fire officials.
