Lagana Nets League Volleyball Honors
The St. Monica junior makes the All-Camino Real League second team.

Pacific Palisades resident Cambria Lagana, a junior for the St. Monica Catholic High School girls volleyball team, has been named to the Camino Real League second team by league coaches.
Lagana is a second-year varsity starting setter and outside hitter in the Mariners' 6-2 offense. St. Monica, located on Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica, finished third in the Camino Real League standings behind Gardena Serra and St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs with an overall record of 5-19 and a league mark of 3-5.
Nine of the Mariners' 12 varsity players were seniors last season when Lagana, then a sophomore, was the only non-senior starter. A multi-sport athlete, Lagana also plays basketball and runs track. She medaled in the 4 x 100 relay at the CIF Southern Section finals her freshman year. Lagana was also a Miss Palisades contestant in March.

Fellow Palisadian Kaylie Ward, who played junior varsity last season, contributed mightily on varsity this year as a junior middle blocker/attacker and St. Monica Coach Brenda Gonzalez named her the Mariners' Most Improved Player.
St. Monica posted victories over Glendale Holy Family, Santa Monica Lighthouse Christian, Playa del Rey St. Bernard and two against Montebello Cantwell Sacred Heart this season.
