Palisades Democratic Club endorses Nick Melvoin for LAUSD School Board

The Pacific Palisades Democratic Club endorses Nick Melvoin for the LAUSD School Board election, District 4 on May 16. Nick is a former middle school teacher in Watts, attorney and advocate. His experience as a teacher impelled him to challenge existing practices, and incumbent Steve Zimmer, who has served in that position for eight years. Nick supports innovation to effect positive change, including local control and school choice such as District-based charter schools and magnet schools. Nick has been endorsed by LA Times, former U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan in the Obama administration, Young Democrats, and Former Mayors Riordon and Villaraigosa. It is important to voice your concern and promote improved education for all children by voting in the May 16 election. Mail in ballots have already arrived. Send them in and vote for Nick.
