Landslide Splits SoCal Home In Half After It Was Spared By Palisades Fire: Reports

After it was spared from destruction by the Palisades Fire, a home was split in two in a landslide that hit the burn area Thursday.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A Pacific Palisades home that remained standing after the Palisades fire was split in two from a landslide Thursday morning, according to reports.

A mudslide and wildfire debris appear to have collapsed after having built up behind the home on the 1700 block of Castellammare Drive, located near Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard, NBC 4 reported.

The home, which was perched close to the edge of a hillside, appears to have been pushed off its foundation by the debris buildup, according to NBC 4, while KTLA reported that the destruction could have been due to water runoff from the firefight.

Both NBC 4 and KTLA published photos and videos of the aftermath.
