Well Hello, Fabio! Hurricane To Make Waves At LA Beaches
Heavy surf, rip tides, sneaker waves and possible coastal flooding are forecast for Los Angeles beaches thanks to Hurricane Fabio.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Hurricane Fabio is expected to bring large swells to Southern California beaches, peaking as thousands are expected to flock to the beach to escape a record-setting heat wave.
Fabio's large southerly swell will peak Thursday afternoon through Friday morning, then slowly subside through Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. South facing beaches will see the biggest waves. Surfers and swimmers are warned to watch out for especially hazardous rip currents.
Other areas will also see elevated surf and powerful currents.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, surf will build to 4 to 6 feet with sets to 7 feet by Wednesday evening, and to 5 to 7 feet with sets to 9 feet Thursday into Friday. Sneaker waves will be possible Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Minor coastal flooding will be possible during the times of highest tide.
Beachgoers are reminded to take precautions such as swimming near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don t swim against the current. If possible, swim in a direction following the shoreline.
