10th Annual Chalk Festival Returns To Indio
Attendees of this free event will be able to watch professional artists at work drawing their chalk creations.

From The City of Indio: The City of Indio will host its 10th Annual ‘Art in the Square’ Chalk Festival on March 10th & 11th. The Festival will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Downtown Indio. Chalk art space will be designated on the concrete sidewalks and asphalt surfaces of Miles Avenue between Oasis and Smurr Streets in Downtown Indio.
Attendees of this free event will be able to watch professional artists at work drawing their chalk creations, and will receive chalk to create their own chalk art, as well.
The event is put on by the Indio Public Arts and Historic Preservation Commission. “We’re so pleased to be bringing this family-friendly festival back to Indio for its 10th year,” said William G. Maloney, Public Arts & Historic Preservation Commission Chair. “This event is a great way for professional artists to vie for cash prizes while showcasing their art for those attending this fun weekend filled with chalk art, food and live music.”

Various community groups will be providing entertainment throughout the weekend, and food vendors will be on hand with everything from tacos and pizza to funnel cakes and ice cream.
