2 TX Men Arrested In LA County On Suspicion Of Coachella Valley Robbery
Two Houston men were in custody Sunday for a robbery in Thousand Palms, authorities said.
THOUSAND PALMS, CA — Two Houston men were in custody Sunday for an alleged robbery in Thousand Palms, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the 72000 block of Varner Road at about 3:45 p.m. on March 19 to a report of a robbery, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities said deputies spoke with the victim, who reported being assaulted and having unspecified property taken from him.

The sheriff's Palm Desert station Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation and later identified 24-year-old Deandre Gilliam and 25-year-old Kelvin Hampton as the suspects in the robbery.
On Thursday, the team located Gilliam and Hampton near the 14000 block of South Western Avenue in Gardena and took them into custody without incident.

Gilliam was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility and Hampton was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. Both were being held on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple outstanding arrest warrants, according to the sheriff's department.
Gilliam was expected to appear in court Tuesday at the Indio Larson Justice Center and Hampton was expected in court on June 15, also at the Indio Larson Justice Center.
