The pharmacy technician had no underlying health conditions, officials said.
LA QUINTA, CA — A 25-year-old man, who was in self-quarantine in the Coachella Valley after contracting coronavirus outside of Riverside County, has been found dead, health officials announced Friday.
The body of the pharmacy technician from San Diego — who had no underlying health conditions — was discovered Wednesday at a La Quinta residence where he was staying, health officials said.
His identity is not being released and there was no word on where he may have picked up the disease, but the county's top health official confirmed his death was due to COVID-19.

“This is a deeply saddening reminder that COVID-19 kills the young and healthy too,” said Dr. Cameron Kaiser, Riverside County public health officer. “Stay safe. Keep travel and errands to essentials, and observe social distance no matter how young or well you are. Our condolences and thoughts are with everyone this pandemic has touched.”
As of Friday afternoon, Riverside County's eight COVID-19 related deaths had been county residents older than 70, and most had underlying health conditions, health officials said.
