
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A 64-year-old man was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of fatally stabbing a woman in Palm Springs.
Miguel Hernandez Toscano was arrested shortly after the roughly 9:50 p.m. Tuesday stabbing in the 1700 block of Arenas Road. The woman died at the scene.
Toscano was arrested "a short time later," police said, although it was unclear how investigators identified him as the suspect.

Toscano was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of murder. He remains held without bail. He is tentatively scheduled to make his initial appearance at the Larson Justice Center on Friday, according to jail records.
