78-Year-Old Palm Springs Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Crosswalk Crash
The crash was reported at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and Cherokee Way in Palm Springs.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle last week in Palm Springs has been identified as a local man.
Thomas Diguette, 78, of Palm Springs, was hit while walking in a crosswalk at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the intersection of East Palm Canyon Drive and Cherokee Way, according to information from the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau and the Palm Springs Police Department.
Police said a vehicle being driven east on East Palm Canyon Drive hit Diguette in the east crosswalk. Investigators believe the vehicle had the right of way due to a green light, police said.

Diguette was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
