800+ Expected at Economic Summit in Palm Desert

Tickets are $110 per person at the door.

More than 800 people are expected to attend Thursday’s Coachella Valley Economic Summit in Palm Desert.

Author and columnist Dan Schawbel and economist John Husing will speak at the event, which starts at noon at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert. It is hosted by the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership and will be followed by a hosted reception. This year’s theme is “Our Desert. Our Economy. ENGAGE.”

Schawbel, a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author and a Time and Forbes columnist, will speak about how to hire and retain workers in “Generation Y” -- people born between 1982 and 1993. Husing, who studies the economic infrastructure of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, will give updates on the local economy and related economic trends.
