Acrisure Arena Prepares For Grand Opening Games

PALM DESERT, CA — If you love hockey and live in Palm Desert or Coachella Valley, it's time to consider getting tickets to the historic Coachella Valley Firebirds home opener vs. the Tucson Roadrunners. The inaugural match at the new Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18.

Meanwhile, the Coachella Valley Firebirds will travel to Nevada to take on the Henderson Silver Knights Friday and Saturday. The puck drop for both games will be 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale as of Thursday online at www.CVFirebirds.com.

The Firebirds are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League. Acrisure Arena is the newest world-class concert and sports venue designed specifically for the Coachella Valley.

The Firebirds have promised a variety of promotional and theme nights throughout the season in typical minor-league fashion. Look for giveaways, promotions and special edition jerseys with live and online auction events for select games, organizers said.

Team President Steve Fraser spoke about the upcoming ceremony.

“We are in the final countdown to the grand opening for Acrisure Arena on December 14 and ready to heat up the ice for our first home game in franchise history on December 18,” Fraser said. “The team and our organization are ready to give fans a truly memorable experience on opening day and anticipate this being the loudest place in the Coachella Valley when the puck drops.”
