Actress Tricia Leigh Fisher Ready For PDA: Palm Desert Action
The daughter of actress Connie Stevens and singer Eddie Fisher, Tricia Leigh Fisher is one of the stars of the new ABC Family Channel reality show "Beverly Hills Nannies" premiering tonight. Palm Desert is a planned locale for the show's second season.
We've seen "Beverly Hills 90210" in many incarnations, "Beverly Hills Cop" (now being readied for a new installment) "Beverly Hills 90210" (two different TV series) and more recently, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
Now here comes the new reality series "Beverly Hills Nannies" which will feature five highly attractive "nannies" taking care of five different Beverly Hills based families. Mary Poppins Meets Rodeo Drive.
When actress/singer Tricia Leigh Fisher's husband Byron Thames told her he had been approached in an elevator at work by the show's producer Tricia said she thought he was joking. "But then (he) told me more about and I said sure, why not? Let's go in for the meeting," Fisher said with the blessing of her husband Byron, who is a professional musician/composer, and sons Hudson, 18, Holden, 9, and Wylder, 3. All they had to do was be willing to get a nanny.

One week later, Tricia (the daughter of actress Connie Stevens and singer Eddie Fisher, sister to actress Joely Fisher and half sister to Carrie Fisher) and her family were chosen as one of the families for the new show, which debuts July 11 on the ABC Family channel.
"I have to say, growing up in a show business family, I am used to being on sets and becoming friendly with the crew members on a shoot. What I wasn't used to is having them in my house when I am blow drying my hair! Most of the time, you just see me as I am every day with my boys. There's not much time for prepping. It's strange at first then it starts to feel normal" Fisher said.

When asked about her new nanny, Tricia remarks, "Lucy is very sweet. I would definitely have hired her without the show. Holden and Wylder like her very much. Hopefully we're portrayed more as the cool Beverly Hills family on the show because we are, but that's the gamble with reality television. We have jam sessions with the boys and Byron and I sing together a lot. We both have toured with my mom. It's a show biz family."
Tricia went to Beverly Hills High School and was active in the drama department there. Both Tricia and Byron have a musical cabaret act they perform together and they plan to take their show on the road to Palm Desert in the Fall. "I love the desert and have been coming to Palm Springs and Palm Desert since I was a little kid" Fisher said. The series will film segments in Palm Desert and Palm Springs for its second season. Connie Stevens, Tricia's Mom, has had a family home in Palm Desert for many years now.
"The Desert is a second home to me" Tricia said, adding "I really look forward to a vacation (there) soon, even if the kids will be along for the ride." The plan is for the Nanny to join Fisher and her gang in Palm Desert to watch the kids, while Mom and Dad try to have a few "date nights." The duo of Fisher and Thames are set to play a poolside gig at the nearby Riviera Resort and Spa and the performance will be filmed for the show.
"My Mom was in the '60s teen movie "Palm Springs Weekend" which they filmed at the Riviera (Resort) so I feel it's already a family tradition to perform there" Fisher said.
Fisher and her family make their home in Beverly Hills and Tricia Leigh is portrayed on the show as the "cool mom" who even partakes jam sessions with her family in the garage. A modern day "Shirley Partridge", Fisher has lived in Beverly Hills most of her life and is one of the rare natives to the 90210 Zip Code.
"I love the fact in Beverly Hills I see people I have been friends with since childhood. We share such memories and crazy stories together. I love that my mom lives nearby. I can still go to my old bedroom and hang out by the pool or on the beach, where I threw crazy parties when she was out of town," Tricia said.
