Injured Hiker Rescued By Helicopter From Bump And Grind Trail

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — A hiker had to be rescued by helicopter Tuesday morning from the Bump and Grind Trail in Rancho Mirage.

The incident was reported at 9:22 a.m. after a hiker went down with an injury. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department described the injury as minor.

A helicopter was summoned to hoist the hiker from the area. The person was flown to a nearby landing zone and was subsequently transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance, according to the fire department.

Firefighters remained at the scene for approximately one hour.
