PALM SPRINGS, CA — Breakfast Republic is coming to Palm Springs as Rise & Shine Hospitality Group expands the breakfast chain across Southern California.
The company announced plans for new Breakfast Republic restaurants in Palm Springs, Orange County and Los Angeles. A spokesperson told Patch that the Palm Springs location is expected to open in October, Huntington Beach is planned for late February to early March, and Highland Park is scheduled for late February to early March.
Rise & Shine Hospitality Group also plans to expand its Breakfast Company brand into Texas later this year with its first location in the Dallas area. Additional Breakfast Republic locations are planned for the state.
The expansion comes as the company closes three longtime San Diego-area Breakfast Republic locations. The restaurants in Encinitas, North Park and Ocean Beach will serve their final customers Aug. 9.
Rise & Shine Hospitality Group said the closures are part of its real estate strategy and are tied to lease expirations and strategic portfolio decisions.
The North Park restaurant, which opened in 2015, was the original Breakfast Republic. The Encinitas and Ocean Beach locations opened in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
The company will continue operating Breakfast Republic restaurants in San Diego's East Village, Liberty Station, Mission Valley, Pacific Beach and Scripps Ranch, as well as locations in Costa Mesa, Culver City, Echo Park, Irvine, Long Beach and Palm Desert.
Breakfast Company currently has restaurants in San Diego's Gaslamp and Mission Valley neighborhoods, as well as in West Hollywood.
Johan Engman, founder of Rise & Shine Hospitality Group, said the company is investing in new opportunities while continuing to evaluate its restaurant portfolio.

Additional details about the planned openings are expected in the coming months.
