Fire Destroys 2 Homes In Desert Hot Springs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — Firefighters contained a blaze Monday night that destroyed two mobile homes and burned surrounding vegetation in Desert Hot Springs, emergency officials reported.

The fire was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 14700 block of Palm Drive, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Arriving crews found two mobile homes engulfed in flames, prompting a second-alarm response. Assistance was requested from the Palm Springs and Cathedral City fire departments, while Southern California Edison was called to address downed power lines in the area.

Firefighters contained the blaze around 8:45 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross was called to assist residents who were displaced by the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
