PALM SPRINGS, CA — As restaurants across Palm Springs reduce their hours in the heat of the summer, the Johannes Restaurant is welcoming diners five nights a week. The eatery offers a refreshed seasonal menu of the same Modern European cuisine that has made it a longtime Palm Springs dining destination.
While many Coachella Valley restaurants reduce their operations during the hottest months, Chef Johannes Bacher's restaurant will continue serving dinner Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.
The restaurant's summer offerings include a refreshed Summer Dinner Menu, Summer Schnitzel Menu, expanded Martini Menu and curated wine selections. The restaurant is positioning the seasonal menus for romantic dinners, celebrations and gatherings with family and friends.
"Summer is a wonderful time for guests to slow down, relax, and enjoy an exceptional dining experience," Bacher said. "We look forward to welcoming both our loyal local guests and visitors discovering us for the first time."
For more than 30 years Bacher has combined his Austrian heritage with contemporary European flavors. Johannes Restaurant is known for its Wiener schnitzel, seasonal seafood, handcrafted specialties and carefully presented entrées.
The restaurant's signature Wiener schnitzel was included in the book "1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die."
Johannes Restaurant has also received recognition from local, national and international publications and organizations, according to a restaurant spokesperson. Those include Best Chefs America, Bon Appétit, the Restaurant Writers Association, Wine Spectator, Alaska Airlines, Elle Magazine, Out & About, The New York Times, Zagat, OpenTable, Travel + Leisure, The Desert Sun, Palm Springs Life, Desert Entertainer and Yelp.
The restaurant is known for its upscale-casual atmosphere, attentive service and contemporary interpretation of European cuisine.
